In light of Rick Santorum's remarkable performance in Iowa, Dr. Todd Alderfer has intimated on the less obscure radio program, The Beat Goes On, that he is considering a run for the US Senate.  Dr. Alderfer has made his opinions known throughout the past two years on the radio and would probably be classified as somewhat right-leaning.

He also has expressed dissatisfaction with the man who he would challenge.  "Senator Casey is a very nice man and his father was a wonderful governor, but where has he been?  What has he done except play basketball with President Obama?"

This would be Dr. Alderfer's second run for elected office.  He lost a bitterly contested student government election in seventh grade to a girl name Daphne Struchella.  "She was tall and pretty...and I was not," lamented Dr. Alderfer in a recent interview.

In the wake of the unusual instance where a sixteen year old, who suffered a spinal injury at wrestling practice, refuses medication - we have lots of questions.  We have all heard of Jehovah's Witnesses refusing blood products or members of the Christian Science Sect refusing standard medical therapy.  However, this case appears to be a battle between standard Medicine versus Naturalist therapies.

The sixteen year old boy was put into protective custody and a judge took over the mandates for his care.  Everyone wants the boys to be healthy again and life a long and productive life.  However, at this crossroads, playing out very publically, is a battle between doctors and parents; a fight between the courts and the parents' rights and beliefs.
